For the Sake of Others

Since we are baptized believers who participate in the life of God we naturally want to live for the
sake of others. We encourage every member of our congregation to do his/her part as we all
respond to the love of Jesus.

Ephesians 4:16 —
From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting
ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

This involves being good husbands, wives, children, employees, and employers. The Lordship of
Jesus covers all areas and aspects of life.

We have some very specific ways in which we as church live for the sake of others. Here are some
of them.

Bread of Life food pantry
Our food pantry is very active in helping people. It is open Mondays 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on
Tuesday from 1 - 3 p.m. Ralph and Rose Warren, surrounded by a great group of volunteers, lead
the way in this wonderful ministry.

"The mission of the Mitchell Church of Christ Bread of Life Inc. is to share the love and message of
Jesus Christ through the collection and distribution of food and other physical necessities to needy
members of our community."

The food pantry serves people from White River in the north to Lost River in the south. We assist
100s of people each month with needed food items. Funding for the food pantry comes from
multiple sources. Once a month we have a special collection during our worship assembly, and
Capstone Ministries supports our food pantry on a monthly basis. We receive some funds from the
Daviess-Martin REMC Operation Round-up, from FEMA, and from concerned individuals

The food pantry receives food donations on a regular basis as well. These come from our church
members and from citizens in the community.

Volunteers are always needed and welcome. For more information contact Ralph Warren at

Honduras
Our church family is increasingly becoming involved with people living in Honduras. We send
teams of 5 to Honduras to build houses 2-3 times a year, and we have a 10 day summer trip where
we take 15-20 people including teens. The summer trip is a little more structured and secure. It is
the appropriate time for those who have had no international or mission experience to gain both.
For more information visit the Help for Honduras website.

Little Lights Christian Preschool
We have a well-established preschool that has been serving our community for many years. There
are two classes available: a pre-kindergarten class and another class for those who are a little
younger. The pre-kindergarten class focuses on kindergarten readiness, and the younger class
focuses on learning fundamentals and socialization skills. Both classes are taught using Bible
stories and principles.

The pre-kindergarten class, which meets three days a week, is for children ages 4 and 5, and the
younger class, which meets two days a week, is for children 3 and 4. For more information,
including tuition costs, please call 849-0560.

ReGeneration
While we have no official connection with the ReGeneration Store, we do encourage our members
to be active in service through the store. This involves donating, buying, and volunteering.

BHRP
Our church is a monthly contributor to the Bryantsville Hunger Relief Project. This project grows
corn for human consumption. The corn is grown and harvested locally. Then volunteers bag and
ship the corn to people all over the world.
